Job Location: EGL ,Domlur Centre

Salary: 20K- 25K



TITLE: Lead Teacher       Reporting to:   Center Director





The role of the Lead Teacher is integral in achieving these outcomes for the children in our care. The Lead Teacher ensures that her team caters for the children’s emotional, social, physical, social and intellectual needs consistently in their daily routines in a safe and secure environment.


As an Early Childhood Professional you will be responsible to assist in observing and supporting the development and working closely with your team to ensure we are providing opportunities to extend children’s learning.


The senior teacher provides overall management and leadership of one or more rooms:


•             Leads with HEART to build positive relationships in the early years setting

•             Ensures the team provides a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development

•             Provides a stimulating and attractive range of equipment, activities and displays which encourage independence, self-motivation and an eagerness to learn

•             In the absence of the leadership team you must assume responsibilities of the “Person in charge” and will need to be able to deal with any crisis/emergency situations




Lead the promotion of Health, Safety and Wellbeing of the children by implementing the Keeping Everyone Safe Program, notifying The Director of any concerns.

Be a Primary Caregiver and carry out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families

Assist in the induction and mentoring of staff

Contribute to performance appraisals including regular observations and feedback

Encourage and model appropriate behavior and expectations

Lead and promote the Diversity and Inclusion Policy, and a commitment to its implementation

Demonstrate and lead good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion.  Have an understand of a range of issues impacting on the development of children and how to support these including children with disabilities

Lead positive relationships in the setting
